Obiettivi

OBJECTIVES The course aims to provide the student with in-depth knowledge and understanding of methodological aspects of cultural memory representations in Korea.

It will enhance the understanding of key concepts for the study of historical and socio-cultural sciences and a multi-prospective view of the social transmission of memory through ethnography, testimonies, historical, visual and primary sources.

 Discussing film works, fiction, memories, photographs and past events, the student explores issues of memory, trauma, historical violence, nostalgia and amnesia. The course also aims to develop practice in analytical reading and writing, which includes the synthesis of different perspectives. It also enables the student to discuss contemporary global issues related to the Subject and conduct original research and articulate complex theoretical issues orally and in writing.

Descrizione valutazione

The achievement of the ability to present in a comprehensive way and to express an organic vision of the topics addressed in class with a good expressive mastery and specific language will be evaluated with grades of excellence. A mnemonic knowledge of the subject, together with the capacity for synthesis and analysis articulated in a correct language, but not always appropriate, will lead to a good evaluation. Knowledge gaps and/or inappropriate language - albeit in a context of minimal knowledge of the exam material - will lead to a satisfactory evaluation (S). Knowledge gaps, inappropriate language, lack of orientation in the bibliographic materials offered during the course, will be negatively evaluated.

In summary, the evaluation will take into account:

-Capacity of synthesis and analysis of the theme and problems;

- Mastery of contents;

- Ability to express themselves adequately and with appropriate language to the subject matter.
